When should you start prenatal care?
- Enter a doctor’s care as early as possible after becoming pregnant
- From 4–28 weeks: once every 4 weeks
- From 28–36 weeks: twice every 4 weeks (i.e., every 2 weeks)
- From 36 weeks until birth: once a week
- If any abnormal changes occur during pregnancy, you may visit your doctor at any time
- One checkup after giving birth
